Wild Tea

This is a picture of wild tea. This plant is native to the South West.  Pueblo people, Navajos and other Native People enjoy this tea. This plant grows right after the rains.  You have to pick the tea very quickly after the rain because it doesn't last very long.

After you pick the tea you can wash the plants then while they are still wet fold them and tie them into bundles with cotton threads or just wrap a piece of itself around the bundle. Then let them dry. When you boil this bundle for a while in a pot of water it turns a very nice burgandy color.  You can drink this tea to enjoy the taste but it is also good for coughs and colds.  This tea makes good hot tea and good iced tea. The hot tea is best for your cough or cold.
