Ske ku is a familiar greeting extended by the people of the Oneida Nation to
others. A more gender specific greeting, shekóli, is extended between males.
Our students extended our greetings to you.
The beautiful image you just saw is part of a larger mural painted by Mary Prescott.
It depicts the Oneida creation story, and can be viewed at the Oneida Nation
Elementary School in Oneida, Wisconsin.
We have chosen this image as the gateway into a virtual tour of the woodland
conservancy area behind the Norbert Hill Center, our high school location in Oneida.
The image celebrates the Oneida commitment to preserving the natural world
for the next seven generations. Highlighted in the tour are the treasured plants and
other organism inhabiting the area.
