Goal: To know more about the language associated with the students’ home place.
Behavioral Objectives: Students will:
· Name individual home places in Navajo.
· Discuss brief history and significance of home place.
· Photograph the home place.
· Compare home place names with student’s clan.

· Using digital camera
· Using the Internet

· Stories related to the home place.
· Stories related to the clans.
Lesson Summary and Performance Tasks:
In this lesson the students will review the history of the first and second clans and compare the history to the home place names. They will discuss a short historical piece of the home place with their family members. The students will work cooperatively in small groups to discuss the home place names and record the different names in the community. They will take pictures of their individual the home places for presentations.
Assessment:
· Evaluate students through informal notes of their projects as the work in the classroom.
· Evaluate students as they introduce themselves and mention the names of home places.
Technology Integration:
· Insert pictures from digital camera to make presentations.
· Use Internet to do research on Navajo clans.
Enrichment/Remediation:
· Written sentences in Navajo using the Navajo place names.
