Sara Joiner

Sara Joiner recently has joined Four Directions as a graduate research assistant. She is a master's candidate at the University of Texas in the Graduate School of Library and Information Science. A native Texan, Sara grew up in the tiny town of Moulton and graduated in a class of 19 students. She is an only child who was raised on a non-working farm five miles outside of Moulton with her mother and her grandmother.

After graduation from high school, Sara attended Texas Lutheran University near San Antonio. There she worked for four years as the Arts & Entertainment Editor of the student newspaper, the Lone Star Lutheran. She also began working in the university's library and decided librarianship was the career for her. She graduated cum laude in 1998 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science.

In her spare time, Sara enjoys reading, writing, watching movies, acting, painting and just relaxing. Currently, Sara lives in Austin while pursuing her master's degree. She will be serving as the liason for Seba Dalkai School and Santa Clara Day School. In addition, she will also be working on the electronic mentoring database, the online library science class, and a literacy project.
